AUSTRALIA - 10 May 2017 - Today iDropped It and the Australian Lottery and Newsagents Association (ALNA) signed an exclusive agreement to offer iDropped It services to its membership base of newsagents and lottery resellers Australia-wide.
Newsagents and lottery agents are the concierge for the community, offering tailored solutions based on their customers’ needs. As an important part of the community, they are the ideal channel to offer iDropped It phone repairs.
Based on a successful trial over the past 6-months, newsagents have referred repairs to iDropped It from across Australia, shipping phones and tablets to iDropped It’s National Repair Centre for repairs.
Adam Joy, CEO of ALNA, said, “The Australian Lottery and Newsagents Association is pleased to add iDropped It to the range of useful services that newsagents and lottery agents offer. This is yet another example of our members diversifying their businesses, and being flexible to market needs, changes and trends.”
Rob Chaloner, Prominent Australian Entrepreneur, Investor and Director of iDropped It explained, “During our trial we developed a strong connection with newsagents across the country that have even stronger relationships with their customers who have come to rely on their local newsagent for a wide-range of services, including repairing their devices. Working alongside ALNA has seen a dynamic shift in our business model, allowing iDropped It to service regional Australia through the newsagent channel.”
In addition to repairs, iDropped It will expand the offering to include device buy-backs and refurbished device sales to drive additional margin for members of ALNA. “This will provide retail customers the ability to either buy or sell devices with assurance they will be reliable and come with an iDropped It National Warranty,” added Mr. Chaloner.
There are over 4,000 independent, family-owned newsagencies in Australia; together making up Australia’s largest retail and home delivery group. Mr Joy explained, “Newsagents and lottery agents connect with local influencers more authentically, and these customers promote the businesses by word-of-mouth to create a loyal following. Customers have direct access to the business owner, making it an easy process for them to utilise the iDropped It services.”
